The stacking crane, also known as the stacker, is the most important lifting and transporting equipment in the three-dimensional warehouse, and it is the symbol representing the characteristics of the three-dimensional warehouse.
The main function of the stacking crane is to run back and forth in the passage of the three-dimensional warehouse, store the goods at the entrance of the roadway into the cargo compartment of the shelf, or take out the goods in the cargo compartment and transport it to the entrance of the roadway.
The early stacker is to hang a gantry (column) on the lifting trolley of the bridge crane, and use the up and down movement of the fork on the column and the rotation of the column to carry the goods, which is usually called a bridge stacker. Roadway stackers appeared in the United States around 1960. This stacker utilizes ground rails to prevent tipping. Since then, with the development of computer control technology and automated three-dimensional warehouses, the use of stackers has become more and more extensive, the technical performance has become better and better, and the height has become higher and higher. Today, stacker cranes can reach a height of 40 meters. In fact, the height of the stacker can be even higher if it is not limited by the warehouse construction and cost.
